Tool House II was constructed to replace the small and aging Tool House I<\/a>. The construction of the new tool house was conducted by young students associated with a workshop for Quakers which was held at Pine Mountain in the summer of 1951. The new structure was located farther up the hill, above the location of the original Tool House I.<\/p>\n Supervised by William Hayes and other staff, the construction of the native stone and board and batten building was designed\u00a0to house farm equipment, as well as to provide space to repair the equipment and store critical tools used in the maintenance of the institution.<\/p>\n Today Tool House II is showing its age and also some construction flaws in its sagging gabled roof and in the cracking masonry.
