CONTENTS: 1928<\/b><\/h2>\n

(1)<\/b> January 12, 1928. To \u201cBoone\u201d in Berea, KY, from KP (Katherine Pettit)<\/b><\/a> Responding to Boone\u2019s letter, she is <\/span>\u201cglad to have my old friend Eliza Fields\u2019 boy. \u2026 I knew his aunt Eliza when she was a little girl.\u201d <\/span><\/i>Mentions Boone\u2019s attending a polytechnic school and ask him to \u201c<\/span>bring Ninnie and the children to see us.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

(2)<\/b> March 26, 1928.To Boone at Berea College from KP, who sends him literature; enjoyed his visit. Writes about the bell for the dining room that the School is buying with Boone\u2019s donation. <\/span>\u201cWe wrote to Mrs. [Mary Rockwell] Hook<\/a> in Kansas City asking her to select one for us and she has just sent us a most beautiful old bell that she brought from Italy some years ago. It is from the town of Assizi (sic) and is two or three hundred years old. \u2026\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

(3)<\/b> July 17, 1928. To Boone from EKW (Evelyn K. Wells<\/a>), who asks Boone if he would make a frame for Mrs. [Ethel de Long] Zande<\/a>\u2019s photograph, as a memorial to her by the \u201c<\/span>M.G.A. girls.\u201d <\/span><\/i>Zande describes how it should be made.<\/span><\/p>\n

(4) (5) (6)<\/b> July 22, 1928. Three-page letter to Miss Wells from Boone. <\/span>(4)<\/b> Agrees to make a walnut frame for a photograph of Mrs. Zande for Library. <\/span>(5)<\/b> Advises against adding an inlay if she wants simplicity; describes his \u201cidea of the proper frame.\u201d <\/span>(6)<\/b> Asks for the photograph; will<\/span> \u201cmake the frame as a contribution to the memorial.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

(7)<\/b> July 25, 1928. To Boone from [unsigned, likely Wells]. Who is \u201cdelighted\u201d that Boone will make the frame; she will tell Mr. [Luigi] Zande<\/a> when she visits him in Wilmington. Gives reasons for wanting basswood. Dillard Metcalf to make frame for photograph of Ethel for Zande House<\/a> following her death.<\/span><\/p>\n
