Hall Family<\/strong> of Viper, Kentucky, and since we are celebrating fifty years of Hall Reunions these facts we want to share with you.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There is never a time that any family history would be complete with all the facts and dates, but several people have been working continuously keeping our history up-to-date as good as possible. We\u00a0are going to submit to you what we have in hopes to\u00a0gain more of our family who are interested in knowing their genealogy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;John M. Hall<\/strong> began in 1927 to compile records\u00a0of the ten children of <strong>Philip Whisman (P.W.) Hall<\/strong> <strong>Family<\/strong>.\u00a0He wrote,<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>This compilation is not in any one sense complete. However, it is undertaken with the material at hand to tabulate and list those of our family\u00a0so as to give consecutive lineage of the past settlers of our family in the United States down to the\u00a0present time. My own life has touched the<\/em> <em>life<\/em> <em>of\u00a0my grandfather, whose life has touched that of his\u00a0grandfather who lived in the American Colonies of\u00a0the British Empire.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our family is old, but we have at present no\u00a0record of our immediate ancestors any earlier than\u00a0the arrival of <strong>John Hall Sr.<\/strong> about 1765, a baby born\u00a0at sea whose father&#8217;s name we do not know.\u00a0This record is being written with the hope that\u00a0as the years go on there shall be no breaks in the chain of our family history. That this record shall\u00a0continue to be kept through the succeeding generations\u00a0of Halls to other generations in the future &#8212; this is\u00a0my sincere hope.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>JOHN HALL SR<\/strong>., the grandfather of <strong>Philip Whisman Hall<\/strong>\u00a0was born at sea while his parents imigrated\u00a0<em>[sic]<\/em> to the\u00a0Colonies of America. The family settled in Virginia\u00a0on the Yadkin River near the head, and <strong>JOHN HALL JR.<\/strong>\u00a0was born there July 15, 1776. The mother of John Jr.\u00a0was <strong>Polly Hash<\/strong>. Shortly after John Hall Jr. was born\u00a0the family moved to Ash County, Virginia, where they lived until the year 1805.<\/p>\n<p>The John Hall Sr. family moved again to Powell\u00a0Valley, Lee County, Virginia. John Hall Sr. died\u00a0in 1826.<\/p>\n<p>John Hall Jr. married on March 9, 1819,\u00a0<strong>Elizabeth Whisman<\/strong> (b.
