Bessie Jackson<\/b>\u2019s student file, (ID 32-18) dated 1927, is stored in Box 32 STUDENTS – Hu-Nol, c. 1919-1930.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cassie Jackson<\/b>, staff member at Pine Mountain, discusses her experiences at the School on August 5, 2001. Kentucky Oral History Commission. Kentucky Historical Society. [1 cassette tape] GUIDE TO AUDIO RECORDINGS.<\/span><\/p>\n

As part of preparing for displays for the 1949 Community <\/span>Fair Day<\/span><\/a>, Ella Wilder and two other PMSS co-workers gathered unique \u201cantiques\u201d from members of the community. One of the stops was <\/span>Chester Jackson<\/b>\u2019s house \u201cat the mouth of the creek.\u201d 1949 COMMUNITY FAIR DAY.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the 1979 Homecoming, <\/span>Chester Jackson <\/b>was among those remembered at a Chapel service \u201cwho have gone from us, but forever left their imprint on our lives.\u201d 1970s ALUMNI RELATIONS.<\/span><\/p>\n

Coleen Jackson<\/b> from Little Laurel, was the winner of the spelling match among local elementary schools at the 1948 COMMUNITY FAIR DAY.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ellen Jackson<\/b>\u2019s student file, (ID 54-18) dated 1929-1930, is stored in Box 54 MISCELLANEOUS STUDENTS FILES, C. 1928-194….\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

Alice Cobb writes about <\/span>Lige Jackson<\/b>, the Ballad Singer<\/span>,<\/b> in \u00a0ALICE COBB STORIES \u201cMarch of Time in Greasy Valley 1936.\u201d Alice Cobb submits a story about Lige in NOTES – 1935, written by a community resident.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lowell Jackson<\/b> was among those present at a meeting of the Advisory Council, according to the 1986 Homecoming Annual Report. 1986 ALUMNI RELATIONS.<\/span><\/p>\n

Aunt Molly Jackson<\/b>, “formerly of Clay County, Kentucky, and a sort of walking encyclopedia of the oral traditions of her people, recorded her singing biography for the Library of Congress Archive on some sixty-one records …There are representatives of every type of tune sung in the mountains — English ballads, feud ballads, banjo tunes, fiddle tunes, sacred tunes, love songs, etc., with an exhaustive discussion of each type by Aunt Molly, who can tell stories as well as she can sing. The John Lomax Southern States Collection, 1934-35, holds one disc containing songs sung by Aunt Molly, recorded in Wilton, Connecticut, March 1935.” ALAN AND ELIZABETH LOMAX.<\/span><\/p>\n

Miss Jackson<\/b> is described as \u201ccaring for her two little girls [at Grace Nettleton Home, Harrogate, TN] since these three years. She continues to be so grateful for her chance to visit them\u2026.\u201d STAPLETON REPORT – November 1932 \u201cIt is such a nice day\u2026Coyle Branch\u2026.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In a letter to her mother, dated May 4, 1929, Harriet Crutchfield mentions work on coverlids by <\/span>Mrs. Jackson<\/b> and others. HARRIET CRUTCHFIELD JOURNAL IV TRANSCRIBED<\/span><\/p>\n

In a report about Fireside Industries, Evelyn K. Wells tells about <\/span>Mrs. Ophia Jackson<\/b> learning to weave in order to support her 3 children after losing her husband. Ophia\u2019s weavings are listed as 11 blankets and 3 coverlets and pieces. WELLS RECORD 13 PMSS Fireside Industries 1913-1928.<\/span><\/p>\n

Orphie <\/b>(sic) <\/span><\/i>Jackson <\/b>is mentioned as selling coverlids in a STAPLETON REPORT – January 1931 \u201cThe other morning\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
