Issues of CASTANEA The Journal of the Southern Appalachian Botanical Club<\/em>, came to Pine Mountain Settlement School Collections through the donated collections of E. J. Carr Collection<\/a>. Ellwood J. Carr<\/a>, a self-taught botanist who shared an enthusiasm for the work at Pine Mountain Settlement, was eager to support environmental education at the School. The journal is rich in articles related to the flora of the Central and Southern Appalachians, particularly ferns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
