Chester Lewis was a student who, in January 1915, had to go to a sanitarium in Ohio to be\u00a0treated for tuberculosis. He wrote a letter to \u201cMy Dear Suger\u00a0Plum\u201d which the School duplicated, but it is not clear how it was used — possibly to send to selected people to raise funds for his treatment. (In a letter to Arabella and Helen [Series I, Folder 30], Ethel writes that she does not know how the expense\u00a0will be met, but that the Roettingers will help.)<\/p>\n

The original and the copies in this collection were all found in the one envelope addressed in EZ\u2019s hand to Helen de Long, 425 Washington St., Norwich Town, Conn. and postmarked \u201cPine Mountain, Ky. January 26, 1915. AM.\u201d<\/p>\n
