Monday.\u00a0 \u201c\u2019My dearly beloved and longed for\u2019 my darling child:\u00a0 Of course you are weary, weary and I am too, for I just can\u2019t bear to have you under such a strain&#8230;\u201d\u00a0 [to Ethel]<\/p>\n<p>March 19, 1919.\u00a0 \u201cMy precious love, dearest daughter Ethel: I find no words in which to express my love and joy and\u2014relief!!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To think of it, to just hold it and say, \u2018Yes, Ethel wrote it with her own dear hand,\u2019 why beloved&#8230;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDearest love, my Ethel Child\u201d<\/p>\n<p>April 6 [1919].
