1957<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n [26]<\/strong> June 24, 1957. To “Principal” from John V. Landes, Education Advisor, Office of Education Services, Eglin Air Force<\/a> Auxiliary Field #9, Florida. He requests an official high school transcript for George W. Tye, who \u201cis currently enrolled with Florida State University in their \u2018Bootstrap\u2019 program.\u201d <\/em>Encloses a \u201cSecondary School Record\u201d form to be filled out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n [27]<\/strong> August 17, 1957. To John V. Landes from Burton Rogers<\/a>, PMSS Director, apologizing for his late response and asking if the information is still needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 1958<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n [28] <\/strong>February 7, 1958. To “Principal” from George W. Tye, 1\/Lt. USAF, APO, NYC, enclosing an application of admission to University of Maryland, Overseas Program, to be completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n [29]<\/strong> March 21, 1958. To the Office of Admissions, University of Maryland Overseas Program, APO, NYC, from Rogers, returning the completed form and explaining Tye\u2019s time at PMSS: \u201c…George W. Tye was enrolled at this school from 1943 to 1946, a period of three years, during which he completed the last three years of high school. He was admitted as a freshman in 1943 but tests showed that in achievement he was well past the first year of high school and he was promoted immediately to the second year of high school.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n [30]<\/strong> March 21, 1958. To Bill\u201d (George W. Tye), USAF, APO, NYC, from Rogers, who explains why he was late in responding to his request for a transcript. \u201cNo one is left at Pine Mountain but myself who knows how the former student records were kept and it is difficult to attend to these when I have no secretary here. At present Mrs. (Fern Hall) Hayes<\/a> is helping me from their new home across the mountain.\u201d<\/em> He has since mailed his application form and transcript to University of Maryland Overseas Program. Tells Bill about the request from Florida. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 1959<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n [31]<\/strong> March 18, 1959. To \u201cPrincipal,\u201d from George W. Tye, 47th Armaments and Electronics Squadron, USAF, APO, NYC, requesting that his transcript be sent to the Commandant, Air Force Institute of Technology, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base<\/a>, Ohio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n [32]<\/strong> April 23, 1959. To Tye from Rogers, who is sending Tye\u2019s transcript to the address Tye had given. Rogers asks that Tye send letters directly to him instead of the Principal. \u201cAll records of former boarding students, from the private high school, are here in my office.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n [33] <\/strong>April 23, 1959. To Commandant from Rogers, enclosing a copy of Tye\u2019s high school transcript and providing Tye\u2019s address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 1961<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n [34]<\/strong> June 22, 1961. A memo to [unspecified] from \u201cm.\u201d \u201cGeorge William Tye was here with his family, sorry to have missed you. He is now at the Univ. of Maryland…expects to be transferred to California. He asked about many people, most of whom I didn\u2019t know, but I gave him Mrs. (Alice Joy) Keith<\/a>\u2019s, Miss (Edith) Cold<\/a>\u2019s and Jim Bishop<\/a>\u2019s California addresses.
