CONIFER, MAY 1945 SUPPLEMENT – Gallery<\/strong><\/h3>\n

One of the most outstanding contributions in this 1945 issue of the Conifer <\/em>is a collaborative offering called “Our Heritage.” Prepared as a graduation presentation from the graduating class, the narrative traces the many regional contributions that individual students identified as part of their heritage. The long poem is both revealing and predictable in its offerings of historical markers associated with Eastern Kentucky but it also captures the tensions of post war graduation.<\/p>\n

Most of all the Conifer 1945 is a heartfelt narrative of what the students have learned in their time at the School and in their associations with their cohort.\u00a0 This literary supplement captures the essence of the graduating body and the mood and the impact WWII had on the lives of individual students and on the settlement school experience they shared as students.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
